In the “Spezial” tent, the brand showed how to customise looks right from the assembly line: whether iconic design details like milled cylinder head covers, footrests, brake and clutch levers, forged wheels, special colours or performance-enhancing parts. With these new individualising methods straight from the factory, BMW Motorrad offers you unlimited opportunities to make your bike something truly ‘spezial’.

Visitors to the event discovered a further innovative and forward-looking solution: BMW Motorrad Connectivity links up motorbike, smartphone and helmet via Bluetooth. This generates new future opportunities for motorcyclists in everyday navigation, for using multimedia tools when it comes to riding-related information, which can be easily read at any time on the large TFT-display, and allowing for intuitive steering by the Multi-Controller.

This is how BMW Motorrad introduces the one-track mobility system of the future, as experienced at Garmisch-Partenkirchen: the design trial Concept Link combines communication and advanced mobility. It’s the rigour of the new architecture of the vehicle that strikes you at first glance. The hook: Concept Link is totally emissions-free, and forges a new path towards connectivity. “The trial is a symbol for a new era,” said Edgar Heinrich, Head of Design for BMW motorbikes, at the three-day event.

The perfect lightweight: HP4 RACE

A current bike highlight is the HP4 RACE, limited to 750 editions. The 80,000-euro bike is fitted out with a carbon frame and carbon wheel rims, weighs only 171 kilos with a full tank, and brings a 215 hp capacity to the starting line. The separate presentation in the Motorsport Tent was packed from the show’s first minute – the bike has gathered a great many new fans and admirers.

Six cylinders don’t lie: The K 1600 Bagger was here for the first time at BMW Motorrad Days – to touch and to take for a test ride. Recognisable by the large panniers at the rear, this brand-new model is a real dynamic highlight bringing the American way of touring to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. In the BMW Motorrad exhibition tent the newcomer did more than convince touring riders who want travelling comfort with reverse gear, heated seats and shift assist.

X2City - a special two-wheeler from BMW Motorrad.

BMW Motorrad surprised the visitors with an unusual two-wheeler: For the first time the blue-and-white trademark presented an e-scooter, the X2City, specifically developed for short journeys and active urban travel. It convinced numerous enthusiasts, who took a test ride on the X2City in the Event Arena and really got a taste for the electric scooter. Visitor Dirk Bachmann and his son Liam had a blast on the ride. “It takes the curves really well, and the brakes are super,” he said after putting it through its paces.
